For many sports fans, the end of October signals a horde of different events on the horizon. For us at the SHL, it signals only one: the SHL Game of the Week is back! And the 2018/2019 season promises to be the best year yet.

In year 3 of the revamped SHL Game of the Week, Taylor Rammelt, Jimmy Olsen, and Max Anderson will once again serve as the core team bringing you the top high school hockey in the state of Illinois streaming Live once a week. While much will be the same, here is a peek at some of the changes and additions to our broadcasts.

New Platform- YouTube Live

We are very excited to make this change to YouTube Live. There are many features that we look forward to taking advantage of now that we’re utilizing this platform including the ability to start watching the game live from the beginning should you be a couple minutes late to the broadcast. Jimmy Olsen, our technical whiz, is also working on some very smooth new graphics as well as highlight packgages that we’ll incorporate seamlessly into the broadcasts.

New Equipment

Last year brought some great behind the scenes equipment improvements that weren’t as noticeable to the viewer. This year is all about improvement to the viewer experience. We have purchased a brand new, top of the line camera to bring the highest clarity picture into your TV, Laptop, or mobile device every week! We also purchased a wireless microphone system, allowing for much smoother in rink interviews. The ways in which you will get to see and hear from your favorite SHL players and coaches will be better than ever.
