Last year's record: 50-10-14

Last year's Awards/Championships: Hoosier League Champions, Indiana Class 4A State Champions

As the SHL welcomes Carmel Indiana to the family, the Icehounds have many challenges heading into this season as they have graduated eight seniors and lost two key incoming seniors to out-of-state (U18AAA and USHL) opportunities.

"Replacing that experience, production and leadership, and gelling it with new, younger players as quickly as possible will be the biggest challenge for us,"  head coach Dan Desmond said. "Add in the challenge of entering the SHL and we have our work cut out for us - but we look forward to it."

Desmond will also be welcoming eight underclassmen to his team as he enters one of Illinois' top high school hockey leagues but he has faith in his underclassmen.

"We are excited about the potential of the whole underclass group," he said. "And expect to see the two returning from last season, goaltender Garret Hendrick and forward Spencer Anderson stepping up to lead it.  Both played very key roles in the success of last year's team as freshman and we are excited to see them both take the next step this season."

The Icehounds are coming of a very successful 2015-16 season and hope to bring that momentum into the SHL and continue that excellence in the Hoosier League as well. Saying they have a lot on their plate is an understatement but Desmond is honored to be a part of the SHL and is excited to hit the ice across the boarder.

"We are honored to have been accepted into the SHL this season and we look forward to competing with the highly competitive and respected programs within in the league," he said.  "We believe that our program will benefit significantly through our participation and membership in the SHL. The level of competition we will face weekly in the SHL will push, challenge and aid in development of our teams and players and further sets our program apart as it relates to our competition and rivals within the state of Indiana."

Welcome aboard!
