The Barrington Broncos haven't had it easy in the SHL. In October they lost six out of ten games in the league, November came along and they lost three out of four. However, can't forget the big run they had at the Loyola Thanksgiving Tournament, beating New Trier Green in overtime in the semifinals and taking Glenbrook North into overtime in the championship. From there, the season's been back-and-forth with wins against Glenbrook South, Saint Viator, New Trier Green again and Fenwick. Now they sit at the No. 7 spot in the conference but they believe they still have some fight left.

"The win [against New Trier Green] in the tournament was huge," said Broncos head coach Steve Martins. "And to beat them again in the same week when they were undefeated [in the conference], it was a big moment for us as a club and good for the league as well."

Barrington broke the Trevians streak in a 5-2 win December 7 with Will Hood, Anthony Iacullo (2), Casey Dodge and Max Kunzmann contributing.

"We're kind of like the under dogs," said Koty Krull. "Everyone is judging us off of last year, we're not that team anymore. We're out, we're ready, ready win."

Dodge believes there's still time to prove themselves and make a run despite some up tough losses as of late.

"We play hard, we play physical," he said. "We can make a great run. I think we have some good talent on our team and we're just great all around. I think we can do some major damage."

The Broncos sit in seventh place at 8-12-0 behind Stevenson, Glenbrook South, Rockford, Loyola Gold, Glenbrook North and New Trier.

"We're not quite a playoff team yet, but we will be," said Krull. "We have to be a family."
