Only a single goal was scored Saturday night in Mount Prospect as Saint Viator beat Glenbrook North in what turned out to be quite the goaltender showdown.

Both GBN and St Viator goalies faced 21 shots and each had outstanding performances in front of a packed house.

“I’ve known for along time that GBN plays a very fast and physical game,” said St Viator goaltender Brian Biehl. “So I knew I had to stay on top of my crease, they’re big, they’re fast and a good team.”

Dylan Harper scored for St Viator towards the end of the first and the Lions held onto that lead for the remainder of the game.

“We could have capitalized on a lot of opportunites,” said Glenbrook North’s Josh Genin. “This game was a one-goal game, one shot could make a difference, it could have been our game. Our first period was very slow and we know we have to bring it from the getgo of every game and we’re going to bring it from now on.”
