The AHL was founded in 2023 and is part of the Scholastic Hockey League. It is the compete for the future of the premier programs, that is, the Varsity 2 teams for the top programs in the state play here. Lake Forest Academy (LFA) joined at the start of the 2024-25 season, and the program's only team will play in the AHL.
